The Chairman of Enyimba FC, Kanu “Papilo” Nwankwo, has continued to display his commitment and administrative dexterity towards taking the “People’s Elephant” to greater heights with the injection of funds into the team’s preparations ahead of the second stanza of the 2023/2024 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL).

Kanu, however, received accolades for delivering gym equipment worth over N33 million Naira to the team to boost their overall performance.

Stating the reason for acquiring the equipment, Kanu highlighted its importance for the team, expressing his expectation that it would help improve their outputs.

“This is the standard over there in Europe and even in some North African club sides, and it improves the performance of players. That’s why I went out of my way to acquire these items for the players, and I am very optimistic they will make good use of them towards their development.”

Recall that since his appointment as the Chairman of the 9-time league champions by His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Abia State, Dr. Alex Otti, the Arsenal legend has never hidden his intentions and desire to bring innovations that will make the club more professional, including structures befitting a club of Enyimba’s status.

Reacting to the development, club Assistant Captain Somiari Alalibo, who stood in for Captain Olorunleke Ojo, thanked the Chairman on behalf of the players, saying it would help their push for the league’s second stanza.

“This is something we haven’t experienced before since I joined this club, and all the players are happy with the laudable development that our able chairman and legend are bringing, as this would help the team in all ramifications going into the second round of the league.”

Also, the team Manager, Mr. Okey Nwabeke, praised the laudable strides of the former Super Eagles Captain. He, on behalf of the club officials, thanked the Chairman and highlighted the importance of the very expensive equipment towards improving their team’s output both in the league and Federation Cup, as Enyimba aims to return to the continent next season.
